Ron's Statement and Information
The picture is the stone of John W. Dennis In 1997 when I went to Vicksburg, I looked at his record in the Park Visitors Center. I disputed their information that they had on their records. Thank goodness I had enough documentation with me to prove to them that he was from IL not MO. In a note from them later they stated that they were grateful for the information, and in the future, they would be replacing many erroneous stones.

John W. Dennis
Born 22 October 1831 Died 4 May 1864 in the military hospital at Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was a Private in Company K of the 5th Regiment of Illinois Calvary. He is buried in Section L Grave 6088.
